For the past week and this week I'm on a blogging hiatus since I'm in diligent preparation for teaching a couple of classes at Lakeland Community College in Dwight, IL. I just received news last week that I got the gig and will be starting Aug. 24, which really isn't a lot of time to prepare for two classes. Thus, I plan to do a lot of improvisation (I should be used to this kind of "on your toes" activity as a jazz musician). So, once classes have started and I have a routine, I'll be back at the keyboard blogging the Progressive-Practical Christianity as usual.
Peace.
Good luck, Jesse!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, I have always wanted to teach a college or adult education course. The cool thing about community colleges is that the students, regardless of age, really want to learn. They're not just warming a classroom seat because Daddy sent them there.
What will you be teaching? If it's related to religion or spirituality, trust me, you don't have a thing to worry about. You really know your stuff, and those students are blessed to have you.

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm teaching an introductory course on world religions and one on the Bible as literature. It's going good so far. I should be back to blogging this weekend.
